I’m looking at this blog

I’m looking at this blog right now, and I’m completely tired of my current design. auuugh. it’s definitely due for a major face-lift. -sob!!-

whining bits aside, I’m finally home after a week bumming around LA and vegas (yep.. again). I’m working on yer xmas cards right now! my apologies if you don’t get them by new year’s… or chinese new year’s.. or valentine’s day…. or st. patrick’s day… er…

I tend to be a little bit laggy with this stuff. -sheepish-

but you will get them! I’m missing a lot of your addresses, so if you can spare a moment, email me and remind me of where your address is. capeche? -wink-

Merry Christmas, everyone!

so I went to a

so I went to a christmas party last night. the only problem was, the party was broken up as soon as I got there. see, I basically saw a bunch of people there whom I knew but didn’t know other people also knew. so it was a “HEY!! What are YOU doing here?!” “WOW! you know so and so?? NO WAY!”

anyway, soon after I got there, the party was broken up (I swear, those are two UNRELATED events!), so we ended up moving the party to jack and den’s place on beloit. unfortunately, only about a third of the people from the other party went to this new party, so it was kinda eh. what was cool was that agnes and josephine were there, and I got to talk with them at length about various weird stuff, a lot of it pertaining to high school. (agnes went to high school with me; josephine is a year behind. on a side note, I think josephine is a pretty nice girl’s name! I’ve met a couple of really nice ones.) so after a few hours talking away about people and relationships and whatever stuff, we finally realized that we’d been completely ignoring the other people at the party and also that there weren’t that many people left at the apartment since most of them went to karaoke at yuu yuu. whoops.

we karaoked till about 3am maybe.. headed back to beloit and just chilled. man, it’s good to be out of school. :)

finals week is OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

finals week is OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

… Well, almost. My roommate Keiko still has one more left at 3 (one more hour!). Jenn and I were done Wednesday, so we’ve been free for a little while. But it’s not nice to gloat!!

So now it’s time to be FUNNING!! It’s a shame a bunch of people have left already — jason left today, amy left yesterday, etcetc — so the funning will be smaller, but not any less harder. -wink-

(wait, I just read what I wrote. does that sound dirty? -blinks- it’s not supposed to…)

Anyway, I’m about to head out right now, since Deeps is going to India today (So excitinggg!!) and I gotta help him finish his grad school applications before he leaves.

HAVE A GREAT BREAK, KIDS! :D

warning: utterly boring blog again.

warning: utterly boring blog again.
(I should just call this one brain droppings)

totally tired, but not from studying too much. In fact, I haven’t studied nearly enough (so what else is new?). I just got back from attempting to study at taylor’s place with mick.

[[ brain fried ]]
[[ tirrrrred ]]

been so busy running around… too tired to say anything! will fill in updates about thanksgiving at a later time.

song of the hour: Jewel

song of the hour: Jewel – Standing Still
normally I think Jewel is pretty darned annoying, with her superfluous vocal acrobatics, but this song finds her unusually restrained.. and because of this, you can actually hear how pretty her voice is!! go jewel!!

other songs of the hour:
U2 – Miss Sarajevo
Released on the “Passengers: Original Soundtracks Volume 1” CD. it’s not listed as U2, since it’s U2 with Brian Eno. Miss Sarajevo features a bridge performed by the great tenor, Luciano Pavoratti. They lyrics are beautiful.. I have them in my AIM profile right now. =)

… in Italian…
Dici che il fiume
Trova la via al mare
E come il fiume
Giungerai a me
Oltre i confini
E le terre assetate
Dici che come fiume
Come fiume
L’amore giunger
L’amore
E non so pi pregare
E nell’amore non so pi sperare
E quell’amore non so pi aspettare

…. rough translation….
You say that the river
Finds the way to the sea
And as the river
You’ll come to me
Beyond the borders
And the thirsty lands
You say that as the river
As the river
Love will come
Love
And I cannot pray anymore
And I cannot hope for love anymore
And I cannot wait for love anymore

U2 – I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For
Look for the version of Rattle and Hum… it’s an awe-inspiring gospel version. :)

U2 – Please
Stripped down and raw, this is a gut-wrenching song finding a new audience in a post-september 11th world.

U2 – Kite
Moved me to tears when Bono played it. It’s a song about letting go, and Bono dedicated it to his recently passed away father…

joy~!! so yesterday was one

joy~!!
so yesterday was one of the highlight days of my life. First off, the paper I had due yesterday: I turned that baby IN~!! WHOO!! (hehehe I even worked in a page relating Diablo 2 to medieval lore/legend.. hahaha!!). Mick and I had to run our papers to the TAs, but it was all good. -whew!-

and AFTER I turned my paper in, I went to see U2 at the staples center!! and it turned out that deeps and his coworker friend silpesh (who had also gone to Area:One with us a few months ago) had waited in line since 7:30.. and they’d saved spots for me and silpesh’s friend krewpali (sp?): deeps was number 68… i was number 69 in line!!! HOW AWESOME WAS THAT??

and this time, instead of repeating our running the wrong direction in san diego and failing to get into the heart, we ran the RIGHT way. =) We staked out spots by the walkway a little bit to the right of the point in the heart, and we stayed there rapturously for most of the evening. it was a totally sublime experience. :) The heart was more crowded than it was in San Diego, but the vibe was still cool. I love U2 fans!! There’s so much love and community, man!! (yeah!!!) It was neat — we ran into a bunch of people we saw at other shows: “say, weren’t you in anaheim?” “yeah! we were next to each other in line!” “yeah, that SD show was great!” and so forth. =) another funny thing: people call deeps and me crazy for going to all these U2 shows (“what, you’re seeing them THREE times?? you’re crazy!!”), except at concerts — and especially among those inside the heart — it’s totally normal to see people who’ve gone ridiculous numbers of times. a woman named sonia did saw them 40 times, 20 of them for the elevation show. we met a woman who flew all the way to ireland for the slane show. we met a guy named patrick who’s also gone a ridiculous number of times. it’s amazing. see?? we’re not that bad!!!!
