Ok, worse WORSE than people driving with their cell phones are people CROSSING STREETS while talking on a cell phone. people crossing MAJOR INTERSECTIONS while talking on the phone. People COMMENCING cell phone conversations WHILE wandering where there is a lot of traffic!! People, put down your f***ing cell phones for TWO SECONDS and PAY ATTENTION while you’re crossing the street! Don’t wander into traffic and expect everything to stop for you and cause an accident or something. Freaking A.
I’ve discovered NyQuil. That stuff is amazing. Only tip: if you’re going to take it, don’t take it if you have to be up in 7 hours. You’ll still feel the effects once you wake up. 0_o Groooggy.
cool thing of the day: running into matt yep (from elementary school! ELEMENTARY SCHOOL!!) at UCLA! who’d a’thunk it, he transferred here last quarter!
second cool thing of the day: enjoying a quiet solitary lunch of matzo ball soup and tea w/honey at jerry’s famous deli. really gives ya time to relax, collect yourself, and people watch. =) I was surprised that the mix of people in Jerry’s for lunch aren’t students (duh). Being a student here, you start to forget that Westwood is part of West LA, which is a functioning community of its own. It ain’t just yours and mine’s college town.
gragh/blagh! thing of the day: President Bush’s State of the Union speech. He was funny to laugh at and criticize. all I can do is shake my head. more on this later. at least the democrats had the guts to say “enron.” oh wait, that’s because they weren’t getting PAID OFF by the damn people!
The idea’s been floated numerous times, but usually in a joking manner. It was brought up again today, also in a joking manner, but there was a *tinge* of relation to real life this time.
So I’m at josh/deeps/ankur/nick’s place tonight, and i’m going over notes/studying. I’m talking to Josh (who’s in two of my classes) and I’m freaking out because the notes I’m taking for the two classes i’m taking with him are clearly not going to fit in the sections i’ve alloted for them in my three subject notebook. first off, the professors in all my classes are spewing notes the way niagara pours water. facts, dates, names pour onto my pages… and they are filling the notebook fast.
anyway, I’m mad because I want my notes to be nice and neat in my notebook, and I can’t do it because 1) I’ve missed a couple of days of class, which throws everything off because I don’t know how much space to leave for notes, 2) I don’t have room to do put all my notes for one class in that one section of the notebook anyway. AUGH!
I’m sitting there freaking out about these notes, about getting a new notebook, about resisting getting a new notebook, and finally Josh says, in his humorous disaffected college student subversive kind of manner, “Man, do you have A.D.D. or something? You’re freaking out. You’re acting just like my sister, and she has A.D.D.”
“Wha?” I say, amused.
“Yeah, she freaks out over every little detail. Like it takes for forever to start doing something because everything has to be just right.”
And he goes on talking about stuff his sister does, and with each trait he says, a little checkmark goes off in my head. What exactly is this A.D.D. business anyway? Me? A.D.D.? I’m skeptical, but my interest is piqued.
So, does anyone know anything about Attention Deficit Syndrome? I am curious…

list of happinesseses: talking to kelvin today (yay!!), spending time with roomies, picking up lots of tissues, studying with crispy, chatting with jolyn and roomies. :)
annoyance of the day: not being able to rip mp3 tracks off two of my new cds. GRR! that’s the way I listen to them, dammit!
